Project Overview

An overhead transmission line (OHL) monitoring system is installed on a tower or pole to monitor the condition and status of tower / pole line components for conducting technical feasibility studies according to the CLP design.

Transmission line condition monitoring equipment is expected to be installed at multiple project sites according to CLP plan. When the performance of the monitoring equipment and system is satisfactory, consideration will be given to extending the installation. During daytime / light hours, all CCTV cameras should be allowed easy identification of property of tower / polar line components such as vegetation barriers at all visible points from the CCTV camera installation (excluding geographic restrictions) to a specified distance (400kVOHL tower line span: ~ 400m; 132kVOHL polar line span: ~ 200m).

Future video surveillance devices will cover CLP 400 kV and 132 kV overhead lines according to CLP plan.

1) Number of 400 kV overhead towers = 566 (Hong Kong edge)

2) Number of 132kV overhead towers = 122 (Hong Kong side)

3) Number of 132kV overhead power poles = 854 (Hong Kong side)
